Community Care

Work Experience & Veterinary Students

Every year Valley Veterinary Surgery takes in students from Year 10-12 who are interested in pursuing a career in the veterinary industry for work experience. We feel an early introduction into the industry can encourage passion for both Vet and Vet nursing.

We also take on 3rd-5th Year Veterinary Science students from various Universities as part of their clinical rotation requirements. These students can see what our practice is like and we enjoy sharing our knowledge and experience with them.

Sponsoring & Community Support

As part of our role in the community we sponsor many events and community organisations.

We are passionate about helping local groups and events as we feel these bring the community together. From school events to rodeos we aim to support as many events as we can – particularly when animals are involved!

At Valley Veterinary Surgery we pride ourselves in having great customer service at all three of our locations. We routinely have bookings made in advance to assist with minimising your wait time in the surgery, however, if an emergency does occur we will be sure to contact you if we are running behind.

As a veterinary surgery in the community, we feel continuity of care is important. When booking your appointment, we are happy for you to request a specific vet so they can continue to follow up on your pet each visit.

We understand that pets don’t always get sick during work hours. At Valley Veterinary Surgery we have a vet on call each night, including weekends, so we are always here to help when your pet needs us most. All our on-call service is based from the Marian Surgery for both small and large animals.

Our standard of care is of high importance, and we believe it is possible to practice a high level of medicine at competitive prices. We understand some clients are conscious of cost, but quality of care is also extremely important to them. Where possible, we will give you a range of treatment options and estimates are available on request.
